With the use of hybrid fiber cable, Kortman delivers efficient DC power via a passive optical network (PON) cable. This streamlined application utilizes optical network terminal (ONT) devices and hardened switches to control and power Internet Protocol (IP) devices.
Our Power Over Fiber (POF) solution enables us to provide Power Over Ethernet (POE) circuits in open environments. This reduces the demand for Intermediate Distribution Frame (IDF) closets throughout a facility. Additionally, it significantly reduces the AC power requirements by shifting to low-voltage power distribution.
We have capitalized on this application to provide a broader network distribution footprint while reducing the demand of AC power for the installation of POE lighting.
In addition to POE lighting, we support many other Internet-of-Things (IOT) devices via our passive optical network solutions.
